Butcher Block

Butcher Block has been used for years and years because of its beauty and durability.  Butcher block counter tops enhance the look of your kitchen with the unique and desirable color variations in the different wood types.

Hardwoods are used for butcher block countertops, especially Maple and Red Oak.  Cherry wood butcher block and walnut butcher block are also good choices with their dark rich colors.

Chefs and Bakers love using butcher block counters because of the control they give when using knives.  You’ll notice this control and full clean cuts of food you are making.  With the smooth surface of the cutting board, the added benefit is less wear and tear on the blades of your knife.  Rolling and kneading dough on a butcher block counter top is so much nicer than bringing out a cutting board.

One of the decisions you’ll want to think about is what type of hardwood butcher block you would like your counter tops to be made of.  The hardwood choice will determine the color, so it’s important to pick a hardwood that will compliment your home’s color scheme.  We have had years of experience in working with butcher block and other cabinetry and can help assist you in making the choice that will best suit your home.
